The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is an international Catholic voluntary organization dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need, addressing social and material needs in all its many forms.

Vincentians are not professionally trained social workers. The key to our help is our desire to serve with unconditional love and passion (as our Lord did).
When Neighbors come to us for help, a team of 2 Vincentians will interview them, usually in person to understand their situation. We then provide counselling and advice relating to

When Neighbors come to us for help, a team of 2 Vincentians will interview them, usually in person to understand their situation. We then provide counselling and advice relating to creditors (Landlords, Utilities etc); Accessing government programs, or dealing with Service Providers. At times, our assistance includes financial assistance or spiritual guidance. We serve all in need, regardless of Religion or No-Religion

Our Funding
We get no government funding. Our funding comes from donations from our parishioners and donations from like-minded individuals, foundations and businesses in our neighborhood.
Because of our all- volunteer society, at least 98% of donations get into the hands of families in desperate need.
Our 'boundaries'
We concentrate on residents of Coconut Grove and the Parish of St Hugh
St. Vincent de Paul Society groups work by parish boundaries.
St. Hugh Catholic Church covers zip codes 33133 and 33145. Coral Way (SW 22 St.), to SW 22 Avenue, to Biscayne Bay, to the Coral Gables Canal, to LeJeune Road, to Coral Way.
If you are within this area, call the St. Hugh office at (305) 444-8363. They will relay your contact information to us. We will call you within two days and arrange for a home visit or a conference call. All information given to us is strictly confidential.
If you are not within St. Hugh parish boundaries, contact the nearest Catholic Church. If they do not have a St. Vincent de Paul group and you can’t find one close to you, call (305) 962-3651 and leave a message. We’ll guide you to the appropriate church.
